Easter at Pomonal and Stawell
Easter Services were enhanced in Stawell and Pomonal by some beautiful and evocative displays.
During the Good Friday service at Pomonal an empty cross was draped with white cloths. Each cloth had been inscribed with scripture verses explaining Jesus sacrifice on the cross – and there were many cloths as you can see from the image added to this post.
In Stawell, it has been the tradition for many years to display an empty cross at the front of the Church on Good Friday, which is then decorated with a display of bright, colorful flowers to celebrate Easter day and the Resurection of Jesus.
And the church sanctuary was decorated with a wonderful display too. Palm frond floral arrangements which were displayed in the church on Palm Sunday (see image) were enhanced with a stem of white orchids which were linked over the cross with white fabric.
Thank you to those creative people who took the time to add meaning to our appreciation of the Easter story by providing these wonderful displays.
